Safety Matters
Cars were not designed with pets in mind, so pet passengers require extra help when climbing in for the ride. Sleepypod is constantly exploring ways to keep pets safe when on the road. Sleepypod has performed rigorous safety tests on its pet passenger restraints starting with the Sleepypod mobile pet bed in 2008.
The Pet Passenger Restraint System (PPRS) is a safety system designed by Sleepypod to secure a pet in a vehicle and restrict harmful movement resulting from a sudden vehicle stop or frontal collision. Every Sleepypod carrier and harness includes PPRS components and features to improve pet passenger safety.
Clickit Sport Harness
Sleepypod’s next generation dog safety harness, the Clickit Sport, has a unique Infinity Loop design. In combination with the energy absorbing padded vest, is engineered to work together to distribute and reduce damaging forces in an accident without the need of additional hardware or attachment straps.
Sleepypod’s easy to use Infinity Loop system reduces additional attachment and detachment steps. Three points of contact reduce forward and lateral movement in the event of a collision or sudden stop. Two loops extend from the Infinity Loop system to provide attachment points for insertion through, then into the vehicle’s seatbelt.
Sizes are determined by chest measurement around a dog’s rib cage, just behind the front legs.
Sizes: Small (16.5-22 inches), Medium (22.5-28 inches), Large (28.5-34 inches), and Extra Large size: 34.5-40 inches
Sleepypod is a proud member of Fear-Free.
Sleepypod Safety Test Program
The Sleepypod Safety Test Program requires each Sleepypod product to meet the highest standards for safety in order to reduce pet exposure to possible hazards.
To protect the joy of driving with pets, they put Sleepypod dog harnesses and pet carriers through stringent safety tests to include static material tensile testing and dynamic crash testing at the standard set for child safety restraints.
All tests are performed at accredited testing and research locations.
